DEVELOPING ISLAMIC PODCASTS FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: A CONCEPTUAL MODEL BASED ON ISLAMIC PEDAGOGY AND VALUES
Abstract
This research is motivated by the lack of studies on the development of audio media in the form of podcasts that are systematically designed for Islamic education in early childhood (PAUD), even though this media has great potential in shaping children's character and cognitive abilities in the digital era. The main objective of this study is to design and analyze a conceptual model for developing a pedagogically effective Islamic podcast for PAUD. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Informants were selected through a purposive sampling technique and included three groups: podcast creators, early childhood education experts, and parents. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, analysis of existing children's podcast content, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Data analysis was conducted using a thematic approach to identify main patterns and themes. The results of the study identified three important components in the development of Islamic podcasts for children: (1) the preparation of storytelling-based content that contains Islamic values, (2) audio quality that is interesting and appropriate to children's characteristics, and (3) parental involvement as learning companions. These findings support the constructivist and socio-cognitive theories in the use of digital media for children's education. The conclusions of this study confirm that Islamic podcasts can be an effective educational medium if developed based on Islamic educational principles and child development psychology. Implications of the study include contributions to academic literature and practical guidance for educators, content creators, and parents.
