ANIMASI ISLAMI SEBAGAI MEDIA EDUKATIF UNTUK ANAK PRA-SEKOLAH: ANALISIS POTENSI DAN IMPLEMENTASI DALAM PERKEMBANGAN KOGNITIF, AFEKTIF, DAN PSIKOMOTORIK

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on the use of Islamic animation as a structured educational medium for preschool children in Indonesia, despite its significant potential in shaping character and foundational knowledge in the digital age. The primary aim of this research is to explore in depth how Islamic animation is perceived and implemented by parents and educators, as well as to identify its impact on children’s cognitive, affective (social and moral values), and psychomotor development. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. The study involved 20 participants—10 parents and 10 early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in urban Jakarta—selected purposively based on their experience using Islamic animations such as Nussa or Omar & Hana. Data collection techniques included semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and content analysis of selected animation episodes. Thematic analysis was used to interpret the data. Findings indicate that Islamic animation is considered effective in three main areas: (1) instilling religious and moral values in an engaging way; (2) stimulating cognitive development through vocabulary and narrative comprehension; and (3) serving as an educational partner in introducing moral concepts. The study concludes that the effectiveness of Islamic animation greatly depends on active adult guidance. This research contributes to both theoretical and practical domains and opens pathways for further longitudinal and cross-cultural studies
