Focus & Scope

Ar Risalah: Islamic Communication Journal focuses on publishing original research and comprehensive reviews related to the study of communication from an Islamic perspective. The primary focus of this journal is to explore how Islamic principles, values, and teachings influence and shape various aspects of communication, be it interpersonal, group, organizational, or mass communication. We encourage contributions that analyze communication phenomena within Muslim societies, Islamic communication ethics, the role of media in da'wah (Islamic propagation), and effective communication strategies based on the Islamic worldview.

The scope of this journal is broad, encompassing diverse contemporary and traditional topics within the field of Islamic communication. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to: Islamic da'wah and rhetoric, Islamic intercultural communication, Islamic journalism and media, communication ethics in the Qur'an and Sunnah, the role of social media in Muslim communities, Islamic organizational communication, conflict resolution from an Islamic perspective, Islamic public relations, and the representation of Islam in media. The journal also welcomes studies examining the impact of modern communication technologies on Islamic communication practices and how communication can be used to promote Islamic values in various social contexts. An interdisciplinary approach is highly encouraged, involving perspectives from communication studies, sociology, psychology, Islamic studies, and mass media.

Through the publication of scholarly articles, Ar Risalah Journal aims to be a primary platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and Muslim thinkers to share cutting-edge research findings, critical analyses, and conceptual ideas that enrich our understanding of communication in Islam. We welcome various types of manuscripts, including empirical research reports, case studies, systematic literature reviews, and conceptual articles that make significant contributions to the theory and practice of Islamic communication. It is hoped that this journal will become an important reference that advances the study of Islamic communication in Indonesia and globally, and facilitates constructive intercultural dialogue.
