AUDIOBOOKS DAN PERKEMBANGAN KOGNITIF ANAK USIA DINI DI ERA DIGITAL
Abstract
Di tengah pesatnya perkembangan teknologi digital, audiobook muncul sebagai media alternatif yang signifikan dalam mendukung perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini. Penelitian ini mengkaji dampak konsumsi audiobook terhadap berbagai aspek kognitif anak, termasuk keterampilan mendengarkan, penguasaan kosakata, pemahaman naratif, dan imajinasi. Berbeda dengan media visual pasif seperti video, audiobook menuntut anak untuk secara aktif membangun gambaran mental, karakter, dan latar cerita hanya berdasarkan stimulus auditori. Proses ini secara langsung melatih korteks pendengaran dan area otak yang bertanggung jawab atas imajinasi dan visualisasi. Dengan mendengarkan narasi yang terstruktur, anak belajar mengenali intonasi, ritme, dan emosi dalam bahasa, yang merupakan fondasi penting untuk literasi dan kecerdasan emosional. Paparan terhadap kosakata yang kaya dan beragam dalam konteks cerita yang menarik terbukti efektif dalam memperluas perbendaharaan kata anak secara eksponensial, bahkan melebihi percakapan sehari-hari. Selain itu, mengikuti alur cerita yang kompleks tanpa bantuan visual dapat meningkatkan rentang perhatian, konsentrasi, dan kemampuan memori kerja anak. Audiobook juga menawarkan solusi praktis bagi orang tua untuk mengisi waktu luang anak secara edukatif tanpa menambah waktu layar (screen time), yang seringkali dikaitkan dengan dampak negatif. Dengan demikian, integrasi audiobook yang bijaksana dalam rutinitas anak usia dini merupakan strategi modern yang kuat untuk menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa, memperkaya imajinasi, dan membangun fondasi kognitif yang kokoh untuk kesuksesan akademis di masa depan.
