Screening For Plagiarism

The Wustho Journal: Islamic Communication has a strong commitment to academic integrity and the originality of every article it publishes. Therefore, every manuscript submitted for publication will undergo a strict plagiarism screening process. This policy is implemented to ensure that all articles are the original work of the authors and do not contain duplication or unattributed use of material from other sources, whether from others' publications or self-plagiarism (reuse of one's own previously published work without proper acknowledgment). Authors are expected to fully adhere to publication ethics principles and are solely responsible for the authenticity of the content they submit. Plagiarism, in any form, is considered a serious violation of scientific ethics.

To carry out this screening, Wustho Journal uses leading plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or similar tools. Once a manuscript is received through the online submission system, it will be uploaded to this software to generate a similarity report. This report will then be carefully analyzed by the editorial team. A high degree of similarity with other sources, or strong indications of plagiarism, will trigger further review by the editors. Decisions regarding the action to be taken—whether it's a request for revision, manuscript rejection, or further measures—will be based on the severity and nature of the plagiarism detected.

Authors will be notified of the plagiarism screening results if significant concerns are identified. In some cases, authors may be given the opportunity to clarify or revise problematic sections. However, if the detected plagiarism is substantial, intentional, or constitutes a serious ethical breach, the manuscript will be immediately rejected. The journal is committed to upholding the reputation and trust of the scholarly community, so any attempt at plagiarism will be addressed seriously in accordance with the standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This policy is an integral part of our review and publication process to ensure the quality and originality of every published article.
