The Journal of Islamic Economics is dedicated to ensuring the widest possible dissemination of scholarly research in Islamic economics while upholding the principles of intellectual property rights. Our copyright policy is designed to strike a balance between protecting authors' rights and promoting the open access and reuse of published content for academic and non-commercial purposes.
Copyright Ownership
Authors who submit and publish their work in the Journal of Islamic Economics retain the copyright to their articles. This means that authors hold the exclusive right to control the reproduction, distribution, public performance, and public display of their copyrighted work. This approach aligns with our commitment to empower authors and provides them with ultimate control over their intellectual creations.
License for Publication and Reuse
While authors retain copyright, by submitting their manuscript to the Journal of Islamic Economics, they grant the publisher, Publisher Media Jaza Utama, a non-exclusive license to publish the article. This license permits the journal to:
- Publish the article in all forms and media (print and electronic).
- Grant permission to third parties to use the article in accordance with the journal's open access policy.
- Deposit the article in scholarly databases and indexing services.
All articles published in the Journal of Islamic Economics are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This specific license is crucial to our open access model and means that:

Author's Rights and Responsibilities
