Article Withdrawal

The article withdrawal policy at the Journal of Islamic Education Management (JIEM) is designed to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record and adhere to ethical publication standards. Article withdrawal is only considered under exceptional circumstances and is typically initiated by the author, editor, or publisher. An article may be withdrawn if there is fundamental fatal error, such as erroneous data, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or serious research ethics violations. Authors wishing to withdraw an article after the peer-review process has begun or after acceptance must submit a formal request letter signed by all authors to the editor, explaining the reasons for the withdrawal. This process cannot be done unilaterally by one author without the consent of the other co-authors.

It's important to note that article withdrawal is a serious step and not a practice that is encouraged. JIEM adheres to the principle that once an article is published, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record. Therefore, withdrawal is only carried out if there is strong evidence supporting the decision and for the sake of scientific integrity. If an article has been published online, a withdrawal notice will be clearly published, linking to the original article. The original article may remain available in PDF format, but with a "Withdrawn" watermark or a clear note regarding its withdrawal status, to ensure transparency and prevent future confusion.

Withdrawal fees may apply in some cases, especially if the withdrawal is requested after the article has passed the proofreading stage or initial online publication, to cover operational costs incurred. JIEM encourages authors to ensure the accuracy and originality of their manuscripts before submission and to carefully review them during the proofreading process. This policy aims to protect the reputation of the journal, the authors, and the entire scientific community from unethical practices or errors that could damage research credibility. The editor has full authority to make final decisions regarding article withdrawal based on available evidence and publication ethics policies.
